Seller Guide
Everything you need to sell on Affinity. You list your own products, ship your own orders, and we handle the storefront, payment collection, and paying you out. Questions? See Contact.
1. Becoming a seller
Selling is approval-based:
- Create a free account and sign in.
- Open Account → Become a Seller (
/seller/apply). - Choose a storefront name (becomes your URL:
/shop/your-name) and accept the seller agreement. - An administrator reviews your application. Once approved you gain the Seller menu.
You can hold Member, Seller, and Admin roles at once — becoming a seller doesn't change how you shop.
2. Set up your storefront
In Seller → Seller Settings (/seller/settings) — do this before listing:
- Ship-from address (required). Where you ship from. We rate shipping and buy labels from it. Buyers can't check out against your items until it's complete.
- Front image. Shown on your card in the shop directory.
- Navigation icon. Pick the icon shown next to your name in the sidebar.
- Storefront bio and an optional flat shipping fallback (used if live rates can't be fetched).
- Custom-print designer toggle — see §6.
3. List your sets & cards
Seller → My Sets & Cards (/seller/gallery) is your own gallery manager —
the same tools the platform uses, scoped to you:
- Group cards into a set, then add cards (images, price, stock, NSFW flag, material/finish offerings).
- New sets start as Draft; publish a set to make it visible to buyers.
- A buyer pays, per item: base price + chosen material add-on + chosen finish add-on. Shipping and tax are added at checkout.
- Mark mature listings NSFW in the card editor so age-gating applies.
4. Materials & finishes (yours)
Seller → Materials & Finishes (/seller/materials): manage your own private
material and holo-finish lists, each with sample images and per-option upcharges. Your materials
and finishes are visible and attachable only to your own products.
5. Your storefront & carousel
Your public storefront is at /shop/your-name — your announcement carousel, bio, and
Card Sets, like a shop of your own.
- Seller → My Carousel (
/seller/announcements): add banner slides shown on your storefront. - Mark one slide Featured to put it forward for the main shop home page (an admin chooses whether it appears there; placement among sellers is rotated fairly).
6. Custom-print designer (optional)
Turn on "Offer the custom-print designer" in Seller Settings to give buyers a designer
(at /custom/your-name) built from your own custom-print products. Manage those formats
under Seller → Custom-Print Products (/seller/custom-products). Leave it off and
the option simply doesn't appear on your storefront.
7. Fulfilling orders (you self-ship)
Seller → Orders to Fulfil (/seller/orders) lists orders for your items.
A buyer's cart can span sellers; at checkout it splits so you only ever handle your part, with your
own order number and tracking. For each order, Manage lets you:
- Buy a shipping label — rated from your ship-from, printed on the platform carrier account; marks the order Shipped and records tracking.
- Or set carrier + tracking manually if you ship another way.
- Add internal notes (never shown to the buyer).
8. Getting paid
Seller → Sales → My Earnings (/seller/sales/earnings):
- You earn when an order ships (not at purchase): the sale, minus platform commission, minus the postage we fronted.
- Your balance is what you're owed and awaiting payout. Payouts are sent on a schedule after funds settle (protects against chargebacks).
- Refunds on your sales are deducted from your balance.
Example: a $20 item with $5 shipping at 10% commission → +$20.00 sale − $2.00 commission − $5.00 shipping = $13.00.
9. Payments
10. Content rules & moderation
Read the Content Policy — it's short and objective. In brief: fictional/illustrated work is welcome (including mature themes); but no photorealism, no real people, label mature content 18+, respect others' rights, and a hard line only on content that's illegal regardless of fiction.
- Listings go live immediately — no pre-approval wait.
- Buyers/visitors can report a storefront or listing; reports go to the platform's moderation queue.
- If a report is upheld, the listing is hidden and you're notified. You can appeal — appeals go to the platform owner.

Common gotchas
- "Buyers can't check out against my items." Your ship-from is incomplete — finish Seller Settings.
- "My new set isn't showing." A set stays Draft until you publish it.
- "A material I want isn't in the picker." Materials/finishes are per-seller — create it in your Materials & Finishes first.
- "I shipped but don't see earnings." Earnings post when the order is marked Shipped; payouts are sent on a schedule after funds settle.
